60 Years of Cadet Sailing


Last year (2007) we celebrated 60 years since the Cadet was first designed. In 1947 the then Editor of “Yachting World” magazine, Group Captain Teddy Haylock, had the brilliant idea to commission a design specifically for children and young people to sail. He asked a leading designer Jack Holt to come up with a design that was low-cost and easy to build at home. The rest, as they say, is history...
